Amazing breakfast!!!

This restaurant is a good place for food but the service is terrible. My friends and I spent more than an hour for two dishes (risotto and half pork half chicken), while there were just a few tables of customers during the time. People around us at the restaurant including some came later than us were having food but we were told by the waitress that "your food will be delayed" without giving any reasons. So we just sat there for an hour served with some bread and saw everyone in the restaurant leaving. One more thing add, the waitress also made a wrong order of a dish which costs around 8 dollars more. (We just paid and left)Sincere suggestion: Never come to this place if you do not expect at least 60 minutes wait without reasons from them.

Nice cozy friendly atmosphere

Every meal absolutely delicious. Service was prompt, thoughtful and pleasant. We could not have thought more highly than we did of the staff. Our service was impeccable and engaging. This restaurant enhanced our stay.

A really enjoyable hidden gem near the George Washington University. Surprisingly affordable menu with great selections of food and drink. Helpful, pleasant staff, and a quiet environment completed the experience. Will definitely revisit.

Excellent stop to have lunch while visiting the National Mall museums. We ate here a few times, and always the food and the service were excellent.

Location

Worst restaurant in DC area. They serve stale and refrigerated food to customers. Waiters are rude and unwelcoming.

Very nice but very expensive. Food was good and portions were generous. For the price I expected a little higher quality meal but all in all a good experience. I would not recommend this place as a destination meal however we were tired and hungry and it was very good for that situation.

Great food

I feel like I have to share my feedback to help anyone that considers reviews before making a decision on where to eat. The food was THE WORST. We ordered an appetizer (hummus) and entrees (ramen) and there was ZERO taste to the point where we couldn’t force ourselves to eat the food. Our service was okay, although she didn’t notice we barely touched the food. We paid for it since we ordered it but I would NEVER eat there again. If you are considering anywhere else.... pay for the Uber and go there. Hotel was nice so this is only a reflection of the dinner. :-(

Good food, good service

First time staying at the State plaza hotel. I've eaten at the garden cafe twice so far and everything we've eaten so far is excellent. A bit pricey for me but for this area is normal. Next time we come to DC, I will stay at this hotel and eat at this restaurant. The hamburger is the best I've ever eaten.

Our server Rahl was very rude. I told him that I didn't want tomato on my burger, he got mad at me when I reminded him . Then we didn't see him again till it was time to pay. Another server came by and got us refills.

This place was nice and quite, we had the cafe all to ourself when all others were crowded. Large portions reasonably priced for DC. Chicken Caesar and Turkey Club was pretty good. Had to go through hotel at 9:00 PM, but it was worth it. Waitress was polite and courteous. Dinning room was cool and elegant.

This small restaurant offers excellent value for the money if you are looking for a quiet location for a social or business lunch and do not want to be rushed. The food is good quality and consistent. Don't expect to be bowled over, though. The coffee has improved noticeably since my last visit a few months ago. The service is reasonably attentive but not overweening. If all tables are full, it can slow down, but not terribly.

Great place to eat,compliments to the chef food was great.Very friendly staff.would definitely go back.I had a 1/2by1/2 Royale sandwich which was beef and pulled pork with sauteed onions and provalone cheese and fries.

This is a really nice restaurant. It is clean, a bit expensive for the food but it's more than worth it. The food is really good. Everyone I take there exclaims how good it is. :) I try to make it there twice a month.

Wonderful salmon salad!! 6 customers all had great plates of food. Would return!!

Enjoyed an excellent lunch in October. Salmon was perfect as was the salad. Everything was fresh. I did note it is not a convenient place for baby strollers due to garden tables and chairs snuggly placed. It was a pleasurable experience to have before seeing the collections.
